TOM RADKE
OPERATIONS DIRECTOR
Tom Radke is a Whistler Mountain Bike Park long-timer, he has guided on Whistler Blackcomb since 1992. His involvement in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park from the beginning in 1999 through to the present day, making him one of the longest serving employees of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park operation.

As a professional ski and mountain bike instructor, Tom brings a lifetime of coaching experience, a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the development and management of all aspects of revenue-generating programs in both Summer and Winter mountain operations.
​
A testament to his abilities, Tom's uncanny knowledge of bike park programs and their daily operational management has contributed to the ongoing success of the current-day guiding program and product offerings of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park.

A former Ski School director, Tom's focus is on creating programs that deliver an unprecedented guest experience, in a cost-effective, financially beneficial scenario. Revenue-generating programs are his mission, paired with delivering the most memorable experiences for anyone participating or working in one of his programs.

MICHAEL TULLY
DESIGN DIRECTOR
Michael began riding bikes in the north-east of England at an early age, with regular trips to the Alps he also got the bug for snowboarding. As well as a passion for riding he had an eye for all things design, which is why he pursued a career in Architecture. He completed his degree in 2011, Michael gained experience in this field for several years in a variety of different practices.
Unable to find his niche he put this on hold and in 2014, and pursued his other passions and looked for a career in professional Mountain Biking and Snowboarding instructing. Michael moved to the mecca for this career change which was Whistler, Canada in 2014 and was on a mission to get as qualified and experienced in these two new fields of work as possible.
Over the first season Michael became qualified as a professional Mountain Biker and Snowboarder and has continued to train and progress through the ranks of snowboarding mountain bike instructing. In the summer he works with several Whistler Blackcomb programs including Summer Gravity Camps, Elevation camps and training Whistler Blackcomb’s bike guide staff. In the winter Michael has worked his way up to MAX4 Adult Alpine Pod, as well as this he takes part in trainer sessions, community programs, privates and executive tours.

After several successful seasons, Michael saw an opportunity to bring back his architectural experience and combine it with the mountain biking and snowboarding. He began to use his knowledge of instruction to create state of the art skill centres for clients off all abilities, Michaels design made use of the terrain in order to help the riders feel the moves necessary to complete the maneuver. He successfully helped introduced winter and summer skill centres for Whistler Blackcomb, and Michael immediately saw the need for this and grabbed at the opportunity. After building solid relationships through the years of teaching in Whistler Michael, Tom, Duncan and Meesh got together to bring all of their expertise in create the company Mountain Tech Consultants where they aim to push the boundaries of what's possible in mountain resorts around the globe.

DUNCAN MAINLAND
TRAINING DIRECTOR
Duncan has experience beyond his year, starting in the snowboard and bike industry in 2002, he has had his hands in different projects all over the world. From running snowboard camps in Whistler to international trips, and training bike and snowboard staff all over the the world.
Duncan started his bike career as a guide in the Whistler Bike Park, and has been there as the industry and the park has grown and changed into what it is now. Working through kids programs, group lesson, privates, and into camps of all lengths and descriptions. With his wealth of experience Duncan has been traveling to bike parks and trail centres all over certifying instructors, training staff, and consulting on trail design, programs, and skills centers.
Duncan spends the winters searching for powder, and riding parks. He is 12 years deep in running gap year programs which include instructor, freeride, and freestyle, training, as well as a snowboard club for young developing athletes. Duncan also works as a trainer for Whistler Blackcomb and a Course Facilitator for Canada Snowboard. Most recently Duncan has set up a snowboarding program with Snowboard Addiction in China giving the new riders there a framework and progression structure to guide them through a freestyle progression.

MICHEL "MEESH" BERTHOUD
HEAD TRAINER
Even armed with a Bachelor’s of Engineering degree, Meesh’s engineering career never stood a chance. After a short 18 months, Meesh’s passion for the mountains and outdoors took over and he found himself in Whistler, a place that he calls home to this day.
His career as a professional ski instructor has taken him all over the globe from the slopes of Whistler to Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Europe. He has been working with the Whistler Snow School since 1999 in various different programs, including working with the YES Tours Instructor Training Program for the last 12 years. A CSIA Level 4 and Level 3 Examiner, Meesh brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of Instructor Training.
He has been a professional mountain biker instructor since 2004 working in the Whistler Bike Park, as well as being a PMBIA Level 1 Course Conductor. Showing great organizational, problem solving and leadership skills, he spent several seasons working as a lead hand with daily operations and is currently the Training Coordinator of the Whistler Bike School.
